Lauren Wallace Named "Ambassador of the Year" at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (January 2011) – Lauren Wallace, Human Resources Assistant at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, was named "Ambassador of the Year" for 2010 for the 301-room St. Augustine resort. The award was presented to Wallace by Jeffrey Oliasami, general manager of the award-winning resort, which is located within the 6,300-acre World Golf Village.

"Lauren is truly deserving of this award," said Oliasami. "She provides exemplary service and support to our ambassadors and management. There are occasions when she is called upon to assist our guests & customers, and each time she demonstrates what a professional team member she is – regardless of who is in front of her. She is a wonderful ambassador for our resort."

The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, which completed a comprehensive $10 million property-wide renovation in 2008, features a wealth of amenities that appeal to groups, and to vacationers. Recreational offerings at the resort include two championship golf courses: the popular 6,939-yard Slammer & Squire (just steps from The Renaissance Resort), and the renowned 7,279-yard King & Bear (co-designed by Arnold "The King" Palmer and Jack "The Bear" Nicklaus). Guests also have access to four additional golf courses within 15 minutes of the resort, for a total of 108 holes of golf. Additional offerings at the resort include a sauna, pool, hot tub, and full-service concierge.

The resort is an easy walk to The World Golf Hall of Fame, the ultimate destination for the celebration of golf's greatest players, with fun interactive exhibits and historic golf artifacts. Guests also can easily stroll to the World Golf Hall of Fame's 18-hole real grass putting course, a 132-yard Island Challenge Hole, an IMAX® 3D Theater, and the Walk of Champions. In addition, guests can take golf lessons at the renowned PGA TOUR Golf Academy.

Connected to the St. Johns County Convention Center, and adjacent to the popular World Golf Hall of Fame, the resort is the largest combination hotel and conference center between Atlanta and Orlando with 86,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The resort is a consistent recipient of many of the meetings industry's highest honors, which includes Meetings & Conventions magazine's prestigious "Gold Key Award," Medical Meetings magazine's "M&D Award," and Meetings & Conventions magazine's "Gold Tee Award." The resort also was named one of the "Top 80 Golf Resorts" in the world in a readers' poll in Condé Nast Traveler magazine.

The impressive $10 million renovation included the complete remodeling of all 301 guest rooms and suites, dramatic changes to the lobby atrium and entry area, remodeling of all guest room corridors, an expanded fitness center with new state-of-the-art equipment, enhancements to the meeting space and business center, and the opening of an exceptional new restaurant and bar called 500 South.

Guest rooms and suites feature new furniture, soft goods, window treatments, lighting, 37" flat-panel screen LCD HDTV televisions, and the Marriott JackPack, which provides complete connectivity to the guests for laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras, and video game players. The rooms and suites feature a contemporary design with an Asian feel, which includes rich red bed coverings, crisp white linens, along with a color scheme of warm neutral gold. In-room offerings also include high-speed Internet access, two telephones with data ports, a wet bar and refrigerator, an in-room safe, and in-room coffee.
