AUGUSTINE, FL (February 2009) – In celebration of the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame’s new “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory” exhibit, The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida, is offering a “Shanks for the Memory” package. The package enables guests to take in the impressive new exhibit which honors one of golf’s greatest ambassadors, Bob Hope, as well as stay at the newly-renovated resort. The resort’s “Shanks for the Memory” package includes: accommodations for one night in a newly-remodeled deluxe guest room at the Northeast Florida resort; admission-for-two to the World Golf Hall of Fame, which includes the Bob Hope exhibit; admission-for-two to the World Golf Hall of Fame’s IMAX Theater; and a round-for-two on the Hall of Fame’s 18-hole real grass putting course. The Bob Hope exhibit features more than 400 artifacts, 300 images, a special audio tour, and nearly two hours of video shown throughout the display which celebrate Hope’s career in entertainment, his relationship with U.S. presidents, his devotion to men and women in the military, and his love of golf. Located within the lush 6,300-acre World Golf Village right next to the World Golf Hall of Fame, the resort completed the comprehensive property-wide renovation in July 2008. The project included the complete remodeling of all 301 guest rooms and suites, dramatic changes to the resort’s lobby atrium and entry area, remodeling all guest room corridors, an expanded fitness center with new state-of-the-art equipment, remodeling of its billiard room, and enhancements to the meeting offerings and business center. The resort also remodeled its restaurant and bar, which opened as a new restaurant and bar called 500 South, An American Grill.

Guest rooms and suites now feature all new furniture, soft goods, window treatments, and lighting. Guest rooms also boast new flat-panel screen LCD HDTV televisions, and the signature Marriott JackPack, which provides complete connectivity to the guests for laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras, and video game players. The rooms and suites feature a contemporary design with an Asian feel, which includes rich red bed coverings with crisp white linens, along with a complementary color scheme of warm neutral gold. In-room offerings also include high-speed Internet access, two telephones with data ports, a wet bar and refrigerator, and in-room coffee.

The entry of the resort boasts beautiful new flooring, wood-wrapped columns, and accents of the Florida citrus colors. The entry leads to a dramatically remodeled 10-story atrium lobby, which now has a Colonial/Asian theme with new furniture, carpeting and foliage, as well as a colorful new 7-story modern hanging sculpture that captures the wind and air elements, reminiscent of open Florida skies.
