The resort also received Meetings & Conventions magazine's "Gold Tee Award," given annually to the world's finest golf resort properties, and its King & Bear course was named by Golfweek to its list of "America's Top 100 Resort Courses in 2005."

Among the many resort offerings are two extraordinary 18-hole championship courses that were designed by the legends of the game. King & Bear is the only course in the world designed jointly by Arnold Palmer ("The King") and Jack "The Bear" Nicklaus. This picturesque 7,279-yard course features loblolly pines and open meadows on the front nine, and impressive 200-year-old oak trees throughout the back nine. The signature features of the course include its placid lakes edged with large coquina rocks, and the striking incorporation of rock into several bunkers and cart paths.

Slammer & Squire is named for legendary Hall of Famers "Slammin'" Sam Snead and Gene "The Squire" Sarazen. They partnered with architect Bobby Weed to create this impressive par 72 tree-lined course which features gentle rolling fairways and challenging lakes. The 6,939-yard course is distinguished by memorable par 3's, and for its preservation of the woodlands, wetlands and natural beauty of St. Augustine.

Both courses feature chilled apples on the first and tenth holes, complimentary range balls, and Global Positioning System (GPS) in every cart.

Guests of the Renaissance have access to PGA TOUR Golf Academy, which offers a full schedule of golf schools and private lessons, and features expansive practice facilities, including a 2,700-square-foot learning center with all-weather hitting bays and multiple covered tee areas. Programs use a variety of the game's modern learning tools, including several state-of-the-art video analysis systems.

In addition to being a golfer's paradise, The Renaissance Resort boasts a wealth of additional recreational options that appeal to golfers and non-golfers alike. Guests are able to enjoy a 24-hour health club and sauna, large swimming pool, hot tub, tennis courts, the Little Legends professionally-supervised child activity program, billiard room, 24-hour business center, jogging trails, and full-service concierge.
