AUGUSTINE, FL (December 2012) – Andrew Pollard has been promoted to Assistant General Manager of Food & Beverage at The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Convention Center in Jacksonville/ St. Augustine, Florida. In his new position, he is responsible for overseeing the food & beverage operations at the AAA Four-Diamond Northeast Florida resort, which includes overseeing operations for banquets, receptions, meetings, Villagio Italian Grille, and in-room dining. Together with the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame, The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Convention Center is the largest combination hotel and convention center between Atlanta and Orlando, with 101,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Prior to his promotion Pollard served as the resort’s Director of Catering Operations, a position that he has held since July 2011. Before joining the resort he served for three years as the Director of Events at the AAA Four-Diamond Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel and Spa in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In that position, he led the operations for such prestigious events as The World Creativity Forum which had 4,500 attendees, and The United States Conference of Mayors. Prior to that position, he served as Catering Service Manager at Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Not resting on its many laurels, the resort continues to enhance its offerings. This includes a dramatic renovation and expansion of its outdoor meeting, event and recreational space, which was completed in September 2011. The large project included new and expanded outdoor function space with beautiful brick pavers, elegant new furniture in conversational groupings, and a beautiful new fountain called La Piazza; as well as a new and expanded pool deck with new seating areas.
