The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort Hosting Concert/Show By Renowned A Cappella Group VoicePlay On July 3

...Jacksonville/St. Augustine Resort Is Offering A “Stars & Stripes Package” That Includes The Concert, Dinner, Preferred Outdoor Seating To See The Fireworks, & Accommodations; Tickets To The Concert Also Are Available

JACKSONVILLE/ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (May 2012) – If you are looking for a very fun way to celebrate our nation’s independence, you should make plans to attend the special concert/show by renowned a cappella group VoicePlay on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Beach Club in Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Florida. Formerly known as 42Five, the five-man group is an internationally acclaimed touring sensation which recreates the orchestrated sound of an entire musical production with nothing but the human voice. The cast of VoicePlay has taken the timeless sound of vocal music and re-imagined it as a full stage show, performing a range of musical styles and eras using no instruments -- which is often hard to believe – and combines that with humor, and inventive and fun on-stage theatrics. Act 1 of the concert/show will be performed in The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort’s Legends Ballroom beginning at 7:20 p.m. Act 2 will be performed on the resort’s picturesque new outdoor event space La Terrazza beginning at 8:40 p.m.

A great way to see the concert/show is by taking advantage of the “Stars & Stripes Package” that is being offered by the resort. In addition to two tickets to see Acts 1 and 2 of the concert/show, the package includes: dinner-for-two in the resort’s Legends Ballroom; preferred seating-for-two on La Terrazza to see Act 2 of the concert, and to see the World Golf Village’s annual “Red, White & Boom” community fireworks celebration, one of the largest fireworks displays in Northeast Florida; accommodations at the AAA Four-Diamond resort for the evening of July 3, 2012; and late check-out of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The dinner begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks are estimated to begin at 9:30 p.m. The package is $249 per couple, plus tax, and is available by calling The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort at (904) 940-8587, or by visiting and click on the “Deals and Promotions” page.

For those not wishing to stay at the resort that evening, tickets are available for $75 per person, plus tax. This includes the dinner, tickets to Acts 1 and 2 of the show/concert, and preferred seating on La Terrazza to see the fireworks. For tickets, call (904) 940-8587.

Tickets and accommodations are based on availability, and show times are subject to change, as is the location (pending the weather). Fireworks are subject to weather conditions. For more information on VoicePlay, visit

Advanced tickets will grant access and parking through the World Golf Village checkpoint. For those who do not purchase advanced tickets to the show/concert there is a minimal parking fee for entry to the “Red, White & Boom” festivities. Parking is limited.

“The VoicePlay show, combined with the exceptional dinner, promises to be a great event that will really enhance the experience of ‘Red, White & Boom’,” said Jeffrey Oliasami, general manager of The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort. “The group is amazing, and so incredibly talented. This is a show that you do not want to miss.”

Located within the lush 6,300-acre World Golf Village, adjacent to the World Golf Hall of Fame, The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort completed many enhancements in 2011, which included the opening of the Villagio Italian Grille; the opening of The Resort Shop, which serves a full menu of Starbuck’s coffees, breakfast fare, sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, and desserts, as well as an array of local gifts and souvenirs; the expansion of its outdoor event and recreational space La Terrazza; the addition of a beautiful new fountain called La Piazza; the addition of a picturesque new gazebo; and the expansion of its pool deck with new seating areas.

In 2012 the resort added another new feature, as it now provides privileges for its guests at the private Serenata Beach Club, which features a breathtaking setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Serenata features: a 12,000-square-foot oceanfront clubhouse; three swimming pools; a Mediterranean-inspired dining room with views of the Atlantic; two bars; a fitness center; locker facilities; and scheduled activities. In addition to providing privileges to guests, The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort also provides a complimentary shuttle to and from Serenata Beach Club for individual guests (based on availability). Serenata Beach Club is located in Ponte Vedra Beach, a comfortable drive from The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort.

These enhancements follow a $10 million resort-wide renovation that was completed in 2008, which included the complete remodeling of guest rooms and suites, a dramatically-renovated lobby, newly-remodeled guest room corridors, and an expanded fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment. The resort also boasts a dramatically remodeled nine-story atrium lobby, featuring a Colonial/Asian theme with lush foliage and a colorful 7-story modern hanging sculpture that is reminiscent of open Florida skies.

Recreational options at the resort include two championship golf courses: the popular Slammer & Squire (just steps from The Renaissance Resort), and the renowned King & Bear (co-designed by Arnold “The King” Palmer and Jack “The Bear” Nicklaus). Guests also have access to four additional golf courses within 15 minutes of the resort, for a total of 108 holes of golf. Additionally, the resort features a sauna, pool, hot tub, and full-service concierge.

Guests also are an easy walk to the World Golf Hall of Fame, which is the ultimate destination for the celebration of golf’s greatest players, with fun interactive exhibits, and historic golf artifacts. Also within an easy walk are The World Golf Hall of Fame’s 18-hole real grass putting course, a 132-yard Island Challenge Hole, an IMAX® 3D Theater, and the Walk of Champions. In addition, guests can take golf lessons at the renowned PGA TOUR Golf Academy.

When visiting the resort, guests have the opportunity to take fun eco-tours and chartered fishing trips, enjoy exceptional shopping at two large outlet malls, and explore historic St. Augustine.

To make it easy for its guests to enjoy the area, The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort now provides a complimentary shuttle for individual guests (based on availability) to and from historic downtown St. Augustine. The service enables guests to easily visit such sites in St. Augustine, which was founded in 1565, as the historic Castillo de San Marcos fort, The Fountain of Youth, and shopping on the charming, brick-paved St. George Street. Additional options in downtown St. Augustine include the Old Town Trolley Tour, The Old Jail, The St. Augustine History Museum, The Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, and a variety of water activities.

A recipient of many of the industry’s most prestigious awards, The Renaissance World Golf Village Resort is the only Northeast Florida resort and convention center to receive the prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating. Together with the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame the resort offers 101,000 square feet of meeting and event space, making it the largest combination hotel and convention center between Atlanta and Orlando.
